Find out about joining the Student Health Association as a member. If you work in a general practice with a student patient population, or work within an institution of higher education offering health and wellbeing support to students, you are eligible to become a member.
Benefits
- Collaboration and networking; the opportunity to connect with a broad range of professionals from student health care practices and university departments across the country. This is achieved through one annual conference and a number of face to face and online study days per year. This will support you to network and meet other colleagues in your area of work.
- Sharing good practice; having a network to exchange experiences and share ideas for best practice. You will be connected to the entire membership where you can have discussions and ask questions. We find that this supports our members to stay updated on new developments in student health and gain valuable insights from our colleagues. This is done through email and through our dedicated Member’s Area on our website.
- Increase and enhance professional development and growth. We tailor our conferences and study days to help support you to deal with the most pertinent and current updates and developments in student health. This includes both clinical (for example sexual health, ADHD, transgender health) and non-clinical updates (NHS contractual obligations, finance, HR and general administration).
- Enhance your knowledge and skill set; have access to shared resources, including policies, guidelines and learning content via our Member’s Area on the website.
Fees
Student Health Association membership lasts for one year. Membership is usually renewed in March, but you can apply at any time to become a member throughout the year and your 12-month membership will start from that point in time. You can only join for one year at a time. Our membership depends on how many individuals you would like to include. We require the names of all members.
If your organisation buys group membership for 2-3 named people and you wish to send another person on a study day or to the conference, if they are not a named member, they will be required to pay the non-membership price as we are unable to exchange membership between people. We therefore recommend buying membership to reflect the total number of people in your organisation / department.
